The oval size attracted me and prompted the purchase. Described as a fish pan but I imagined it as the perfect shape for fixing eggs-over-easy. Round frying pans seem to hinder my ability to flip eggs over perfectly if there are more than two eggs in a pan. I can fix four eggs-over-easy in this oval pan. Love the pan for that but then I tried it for steaming large fish fillets and that was where I truly felt this was the best new frying pan in my arsenal. Been cooking for almost 50 years, tried a lot of cookware but Swiss Diamond is now my go-to brand. Have slowly started adding more pieces as I can afford them. Well worth the cost!

We purchased the pan 10 yrs ago and it has seen heavy use and is now with our son as a camping pan. We used it for many applications other than fish. We call it the magic pan. Jeff & Mary Alice
