The Holiday season can get stressful – Here are 4 ways to simplify your Thanksgiving.
Declutter Before the New Year
More time at home also means more clutter! One thing that always makes me feel better when I’m stuck at home Is keeping things organized. The easiest place to start is the pantry! Take out unnecessary boxes and try replacing them with reusable containers! I love these clear organizing bins from Amazon.
Finalize Your Recipes Now
While these holidays may look a little different, cooking with loved ones is always a cherished activity. I have taken a few minutes to pick out some recipes that I know my husband will love, and now I don’t have to scramble last minute to cook up a delicious dish. I am especially excited about making a Mustard, Peppercorn & Herb Crusted Prime Rib.
Plan Your Gifting for Christmas
The last thing anyone wants to do is be stuck in the
craziness of holiday shopping. This year I will be utilizing online shopping to
stay safe while still getting the perfect gifts for my family.
I’m going to get my mom a new roasting pan. She loves cooking large meals for the family, and this pan ensures she will spend barely any time having to clean up. After Thanksgiving sales are also the perfect time to find gifts before the holiday rush.
Take Time for Yourself
In the rush of the holiday season we often forget to take time for ourselves, and that can wear us down! Three things I am doing to combat this are
- Going for walks. Walking increases the blood flow to the brain. A 1999 study of people over 60 found that walking 45 minutes a day at a 16-minute mile pace increased their thinking skills.
- Cooking healthy food like Chicken and Vegetables. I love this non-dairy ice cream for dessert!
- Watching shows on Netflix. My current favorite is The Great British Baking Show.
Whatever your thanksgiving will look like this year, the Swiss Diamond team hopes you spend it with loved ones and great food.
