Combine the brown sugar and other seasonings in a small bowl. This is your dry rub for the tilapia. Rub the spice mix all over the tilapia.
In a 12.5” XD Nonstick Frypan (heated to medium heat) heat oil. Add tilapia and cook until crust is a deep golden color. The fish should flake easily with a fork. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side to achieve this.
In another bowl, toss the avocado, tomato, jalapeno, and cilantro. Add oil and lime juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the tilapia topped with the avocado salsa!
