Sweet Potato Chili

We love this unique and delicious chili dish! Use one of our XD or HD Swiss Diamond Pots to ensure even heating, and a nonstick experience while cooking! Our Soup pot sizes are perfect for chili. 


  • 2 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (red), chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or pre-minced garlic (3 tsp)
  • 1 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed into 1" pieces
  • 3 c. low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (14.5-oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • Freshly chopped parsley, for serving


    1. In a 5 qt swiss diamond pot, heat oil on medium. Add the bell pepper and onion and cook them until soft, usually about 5 minutes. Add garlic and tomato paste and stir until well coated. Add sausage and break it up with a spoon until meat is no longer pink after cooking. Est. 7 minutes. Add chili powder, garlic powder, oregano, and cayenne. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    2. Add the sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer, covering with a lid until potatoes are tender. Est 15 mins.

    3. Optional – Garnish with parsley before serving
    4. Enjoy!
