Sweet Potato Chili

We love this unique and delicious chili dish! Use one of our XD or HD Swiss Diamond Pots to ensure even heating and a nonstick experience while cooking! The size of our Soup Pots are perfect for chili. 


  • 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (3 tsp)
  • 1 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne peppe
  • kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed into 1" pieces
  • 3 Cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1, 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
  • parsley, freshly chopped, for serving


  1. In a 5 qt Swiss Diamond Pot, heat oil at medium. Add the red pepper and onion and cook until soft, usually about 5 minutes. Add garlic and tomato paste and stir until well coated. Add sausage breaking it up with a wooden spoon until meat is no longer pink, about 7 minutes. Add chili powder, garlic powder, oregano and cayenne pepper. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the sweet potatoes, tomatoes and broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover with lid and let simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes
  3. Optional – garnish with parsley before serving
  4. Enjoy!
