Turkey Burger with Mango Slaw
We all know and love a classic Turkey Burger! Now our chefs are bringing it back with a twist! Try it with our Mango Slaw for a refreshing summer dinner! Perfect for company coming over or a weeknight meal!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp jerk seasoning, plus more for sprinkling
- 1 small green apple, peeled and grated
- ½ cup scallions, finely chopped
- ¼ Cup Panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- ¼ cup mayonnaise, plus more for brushing
- ¼ cup mango chutney, roughly chopped
- 3 cups green cabbage, shredded 1 carrot, shredded
- 4 hamburger buns, split
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat a Swiss Diamond XD Grill Pan on medium heat.
- Mix the turkey, jerk seasoning (or Jamaican seasoning), apple, ¼ cup scallions and Panko in a bowl; season with salt and pepper.
- Form into four, 1" thick patties and make a small indentation in the middle of each with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up on the grill. Place in the refrigerator.
- Whisk the mayonnaise and chutney together in a large bowl.
- Add the cabbage, carrot and the remaining ¼ cup scallions, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat.
- Place the patties in the Swiss Diamond XD Grill pan without oil. Grill the turkey patties until browned and cooked through, 4 - 5 minutes per side.
- Brush the cut sides of the buns with mayonnaise and sprinkle with jerk seasoning, toast on the grill pan for 30 seconds or until desired crispiness is reached.
- Serve the burgers and slaw on the buns.
